Description
The colourful aquatic beauty Didiplis diandra is native to the eastern part of the United States. Its impressive look makes this stem plant one of the most popular choice for aquascapes.
Its needle-shaped, narrow and tapering leaves lend it a graceful and delicate look. It is naturally green in colour but under certain conditions - i.e, with sufficient micronutrients and good light - it can turn into vibrant orange and red. For a particularly intense colour and vigorous growth (up to 30 cm), it should be fertilised with sufficient CO₂.
- Light requirements: medium to high
- Optimal temperature: 22 to 26°C
- Water hardness: very soft to medium hard
- pH value: 5 to 7
- CO2 and nutrient addition: highly recommended
- Propagation: cuttings / side shoots
Note: The plants are grown in-vitro in sterile conditions in a laboratory. They are therefore also suitable for sensitive animals such as dwarf shrimps and can be used immediately. In-vitro plants do not harbour pests such as snails or parasites. No pesticides are used.
