Dennerle Plants Taxiphyllum on Bamboo Home

Taxiphyllum barbieri is one of the best-known aquarium moss species and is greatly appreciated by many aquascapers - not least because it is so low-maintenance! In this version, it comes attached to tubes made of bamboo charcoal, securely tied up and well-established growth. Bamboo charcoal is a sustainable material that is readily accepted by many animals as a retreat or even living space. Shrimps in particular love these densely moss-covered tubes. Java moss likes warmer temperatures but has few other demands and thrives quite well even without much attention. It does best with plenty of light and nutrients and develops the popular, often overhanging carpets and curtains - ideal for naturally designed layouts.

• Nutrient supply: not necessary, but will be rewarded
• Reproduction: division of the moss cushions

Tip: Moss unfolds its full splendour after an acclimatisation phase of several weeks. Until then, leave it alone. Place in a location where it can remain undisturbed and thrive.
