Description
Hygrophila pinnatifida is an attractive plant for the midground. It has a distinctive reddish colour and features lavishly feathered leaves like flamboyant feathers in a hat. Its unusual appearance compensates a little for it slow growing habit and can reach a maximum height of 40 cm. If side shoots are left undisturbed, they will take root on the hardscape and form new plants creating interesting backdrops over time. It needs good light and warm temperatures between 20 and 30°C.
Note: Watch out if you have snails! Some species like to eat the Hygrophila pinnatifida.
