Description
Adult specimens of Ludwigia ovalis or Japan ludwigia are somewhat reminiscent of basil! The popular stem plant develops a loosely upright to sloping habit and branches well. As it can develop pink-orange colouring, it is becoming increasingly popular. For this, however, the plant needs very good light conditions, good fertilisation and a constant supply of CO2. As it grows quickly, the middle and background are ideal locations.
- Light requirements: Medium to intense
- Optimum temperature: 10 to 28°C
- Water values: Soft to hard
- pH value: 4 to 7
- CO2 and nutrients: Recommended
- Propagation: Cuttings
Note: Cups are grown in the laboratory. Aquatic plants from the so-called in vitro culture are grown sterilely. They are therefore also suitable for sensitive animals such as dwarf shrimps and can be used immediately. There are no stowaways such as snails or parasites in in vitro plants, and pesticides are not used at all.
