Description
The more rounded leaves of the slow-growing Lagenandra meeboldii 'Pink' from India, Pakistan and Afghanistan grow 10 to 20 cm high. This beautiful novelty fits perfectly as a solitaire in the middle ground. Lagenandra meeboldii 'Pink' is quite similar to the Cryptocoryne, but the rhizome stands out for its special colour.
This variant has great coloured foliage. The undersides of the leaves are reddish to radiant pink, the top is dark pink with greenish leaf veins. Lots of light, CO2 fertilisation and a good supply of nutrients promote the colours. Without CO2 fertilisation and under less light, the plant tends to turn green and grow more slowly.
