Description
Bucephalandra pygmaea is a plant that grows on rocks and tree roots. The easy-care rootstock plant thrives in the wild along streams and rivers in Asia and prefers a tropical rainforest climate.
The Bucephalandra does best when it is not exposed to too much light. Its soft, green to brown coloured leaves are around 5 cm long and 2 cm wide. The leaf edges can be wavy or curly and, when under water, they develop small white dots.
Take care to leave the rhizome uncovered while planting this specimen as this can lead to rotting and eventual plant death. Propagation can be achieved by cutting shoots and attaching them to the hardscape where they continue to grow and develop into independent plants.
Note: The plants are grown in-vitro in sterile conditions in a laboratory. They are therefore also suitable for sensitive animals such as dwarf shrimps and can be used immediately. In-vitro plants do not harbour pests such as snails or parasites. No pesticides are used.
