Description
The CriystalSkim surface vacuum cleaner from Oase delivers what it promises: crystal clear water surface! This compact and cleverly designed device can help you get rid of all types of plant debris and fine particles from the water surface of your aquarium. The skimmer delivers optimal results in combating duckweed and removing scum which is not only visually disturbing but also impedes active gas exchange between aquarium water and air. The Oase skimmer can remove even super fine particles which a regular net filter can't!
The innovative surface vacuum is equipped with a powerful, adjustable motor. A floating ring ensures long use without having to refill water. A specially integrated and easily removable basket protects your aquarium inhabitants from getting into the skimmer: Their safety is guaranteed!
It is compact and has a discrete design. Two suction cups on the back allow it to be easily mounted on an aquarium pane.

Note:
Rinse the filter sponge with cold water before using it for the first time. Position the CrystalSkim so that the collection ring floats high in the water.

Great design, poor quality

The design of this skimmer is great, I love placing it above my CO2 diffuser, as it keeps those bubbles in the water longer. HOWEVER! The plastic quality is dissapointing, the transparent top bit was stuck and I almost broke it trying to remove it (did not have to apply much force to make it audibly crackle, left behind scratches too as I had to rotate it to remove it). Also it is NOT small fish safe! Despite what the claims are in the manual. It killed 2 mature chilli rasboras in no time. It also produces quite a few air bubbles even after almost a month of operation. If the water level decreases too much, it produces a ton of air bubbles and makes a horrible noise that I never get with other skimmers, that scares fish (aaaand ofcourse makes them jump :/) so you gotta be on your toes with the water level, it doesn't have to decrease by much. I definitely expected more from an Oase branded product, but I will say the price is surprisingly not outrageous, design is super cool and cleaning is a breeze, plus the CO2 trick makes it worth a buy. Just one! :)))) Still looking for the perfect skimmer though 🤔
