Description
The manufacturer Fluval is known for its wide range when it comes to substrate cleaning. The all-rounder effectively collects dirt and impurities, while the substrate to be cleaned sinks cleanly and evenly back onto the aquarium floor due to its higher weight.
There is a well-positioned switch on the ergonomically shaped handle with which you can switch between two speeds and a break in no time. The integrated gravel protection can not clog anything. The extension for places that are difficult to access is also practical. The suction pipe is 20 cm longer for deeper pools (up to 60 cm) or hard-to-reach areas.
Thanks to its LED light, it also provides the necessary view in dark pool areas and with the water change adapter, the cleaner quickly becomes a water changer par excellence.
Last but not least, the filter unit ProVAC gravel cleaner should be mentioned. Typically Fluval, its filter insert can be easily removed and the filter pad changed quickly. And because this is double-layered, one level catches coarser particles, while the second layer binds the fine particles. Voilà, done and clean.
An overview of the best functions and properties of the Fluval ProVAC:
- Power supply 12 volts / 8.5 watts, with 3.6 m long cable
- Ergonomic handle with practical speed control
- Reliable cable connection - no batteries required
- LED lamp for cleaning in dark places
- 2-speed levels and pause function
- Extension tube for deeper aquariums
- Quickly removable, double-layer filter insert
- Integrated gravel protection catches substrate that wants to escape :)
- Water change adapter (hose is available separately)

Fluval Pro Vac Gravel Cleaner
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
Bought this works like a dream no need to use manual siphon pump. All hard work done by powerful suction cleaned all the gravel in my take in less than 20 min. I would recommend this product to anyone. Delivered on time

Cleaning the aquarium
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
This product works well in our 75litre aquarium. It would not be very easy to use in a smaller aquarium, such as the Fluval Edge or similar, due to its size. Filter is easy to clean and effective.

Not good with sand
Rated with 2 out of 5 stars.
I got sent the wrong one as the picture and description didn't match what I ordered there is a bigger one and a small one luckily the smaller one fitted my tanks.
I have used it once I find it cheap for the price of it, it does clean up but I end up with filter clogged with sand. If you had a tall tank and gravel it would work better but not worth the £50 very disappointed and for the price it should really come with a hose.
I found the fluvals £12 gravel cleaner way better. Was this rating helpful? (0) (1)

Does the job, and then some!
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
Does an excellent job cleaning the gravel, my tank hasn't been this clean since I first set it up. It's really good for water changes, too. I have goldfish, and they are messy, so this gravel cleaner/water changer is going to get a lot of use. Bear in mind that this would probably be too big to use in anything under a 60 litre aquarium. If you're willing to wash out the filters, you can get several uses out of just one - the filters are really well made and hold up well, even with washing and re-use. You need to buy the hose for water changes separately, it's not included. It takes a 12mm hose.
