Description
Hygrophila pinnatifida makes a beautiful addition to the midground of an aquarium. The upright growing stem plant is characterised by a distinctive reddish hue and features pretty feathery leaves that resemble feathers stuck in a hat. The unusual and attractive plant makes up for its slow growth rate but it can reach a height from 20 to 40. If the side shoots are allowed to grow, they will happily take root on the hardscape and form new plants thus creating an interesting backdrop over time. It needs good light and warmth, i.e., a water temperature between 20 and 30 °C. Bear in mind that some snail species love to feast on its leaves.
- Light requirements: good to intense
- Optimal temperature: 20 to 30°C
- Water values: 4 to 20°dH
- pH value: 5.5 to 8 - tolerant
- CO2 and nutrient addition: recommended
- Propagation: runners, cuttings
Note: The plants are grown in-vitro in sterile conditions in a laboratory. They are therefore also suitable for sensitive animals such as dwarf shrimps and can be used immediately. In-vitro plants do not harbour pests such as snails or parasites. No pesticides are used.
