Description

Taxiphyllum sp. 'Spiky Moss' is one of the most attractive mosses for aquariums.: Its striking intense green cushiony growths serve as a "café" for various aquarium dwellers. The feathery, pointed shoots add a natural touch and a mystical ambience. Its rapid growth habit enables design ideas to be implemented more quickly. It can be attached to any hardscape and its elegant, dense branches look very attractive vertically as a green wall. It has low demands and can grow to heights of up to 20 cm. It responds well to pruning but please do it carefully with the right tools!

Water quality: clean, regular partial water changes are recommended
Nutrients: adding CO₂ and trace elements is rewarded
Light requirement: the warmer the water, the brighter it should be
Optimal temperature: between 18 to 26°C
Propagation: division of individual moss cushions

Tip: Taxiphyllum sp. 'Spiky Moss' looks its best after a period of acclimatisation over several weeks. Until then, please leave it undisturbed! Like most mosses, it should be placed in a location where it can remain undisturbed to grow well and thrive.
