Description
Sera siporax pond is a fully biological filter medium for almost all garden pond filters. 1 litre of Sera siporax pond has the same biodegradation capacity as in about 34 litres of clay filter material.
You can avoid coarse dirt from suspended particles by using Sera coarse biofibres as a pre-filter material.
Sera siporax pond offers bacteria an extremely high proportion of open-pore tunnel structures. This enables an ideal supply of the bacteria with nutrients and the smallest amounts of fresh water. Low-oxygen conditions prevail inside the tunnels, which stimulate the bacteria to split nitrate in order to get enough oxygen. This means that they continuously break down the nitrate and the pond water remains low in nitrates.
Calculation formula for Sera siporax pond:
A single litre of Sera siporax pond is sufficient to permanently purify 1,000 litres of pond water with 20 pond fish of 10 cm length or a comparable stock (corresponding to approx. 1.5 kg of fish when fed with up to 40 g of quality feed / day) from organic loads.
