Description
Sera Wels-Chips is a staple food in chip form for rasping and bottom-dwelling fish like ancistrus and L-catfish in freshwater aquariums and is available in different containers.
Catfish are generally rather shy aquarium inhabitants, some of which only eat at night. They usually look for their food near the ground. But this is where the similarities end: While some are searching for their food in the ground, others slowly grate and suck their food from a surface. With the catfish food Viformo, catfish chips and tabs, Sera provides products that differ significantly in content and structure and thus optimally meet the needs of both groups.
Sera catfish chips are a staple food, for grating and sucking bottom fish such as ancistrus and L-catfish, made from carefully produced chips. The balanced recipe with the high proportion of fibre (including fibres from willow bark and alder cones) supports healthy digestion and development. Since the rapidly sinking chips, which become supple in the water, remain dimensionally stable for at least 24 hours, they allow the predominantly nocturnal catfish to eat slowly, which corresponds to their natural eating habits, without polluting the water.
Composition:
Fish meal, corn starch, wheat flour, wheat germ, brewer's yeast, spirulina, milk powder, fish oil (49% of which are omega fatty acids), herbs, whole egg powder, willow bark (0.5%), alder cones (0.5%), nettle, alfalfa, mannan Ogliosaccharides (0.4%), parsley, seaweed, peppers, spinach, carrots, green-lipped mussels, Haematococcus algae, garlic.
Feeding recommendation:
Feed Sera catfish chips 1-2 times a day in as small amounts as the animals can eat in 24 hours. If you still see food residues after a day, you should vacuum them up and reduce the amount of feed the next time you feed them. Once opened, the food tin should always be tightly closed and used up within a few months to prevent loss of freshness.
Tip:
Regularly put on a fasting day to boost the animals' metabolism and to promote behaviour that is appropriate for the species through active foraging. The main food can be supplemented with other Sera foods to optimally alternate the daily menu of the fish.
Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:
With Sera catfish chips you can feed your soil inhabitants slowly and appropriately according to their eating habits!
