Nyos Floating Fish Trap

The Floating Fish Trap by Nyos® is a true innovation! While other fish traps involve fiddling around with strings and such, this fish trap accomplishes its task with a simple yet clever concept!

How does it work?

The fish trap is attached to the aquarium wall with magnets. Attach the trap close to the water surface so you can use the pipette enclosed to add place food in the trap to attract the fish. Once the fish is in the trap, release the magnetic connection. An air body at the opening enables a quick 90-degree rotation and allows it to float to the water surface where you can easily remove the trap and fish.

More tips:

• Give fish some time to get used to the trap.
• Feed them only through the trap for a while.
• Algae leaves can be attached to the trap using the magnet - ideal for algae-eating fish.
• You can also use the pipette to keep the food moving, as some fish react better to moving food.
• For small or fast fish, wait until they have swum as far as possible into the trap.
• Do not catch several large fish in the trap at the same time.
• For shy fish, you can attach the magnet holder to a string to release it from a greater distance.
• To catch shy fish, it is a good idea to catch the more dominant fish from the aquarium first.
• If necessary, the flow rate of the aquarium can be reduced so that the food remains in the trap.
