Description
The Milwaukee CD601 Conductivity Tester is a digital device used to measure conductivity (EC) in aquariums, aquaculture, pools and other water treatment applications. The conductivity tester with automatic temperature compensation (ATC) can be used to find out, for example, whether there are enough nutrients in aquarium water for fish to be healthy, or whether a filter can perform successful water filtration for clean water. The EC tester helps you keep the EC value in your aquarium within the desired range depending on the application: the ideal range for aquariums is from 0 to 1990 µS/cm.
The device is factory calibrated, but it can also be recalibrated if necessary using a one-point calibration. The EC pen allows 350 hours of continuous operation - four 1.5 V batteries are included.
Instructions for Care:
As with any other device, the conductivity tester may start showing signs of wear and tear after a while, usually in the form of nutrient deposits. You can prevent this by rinsing the probe thoroughly with fresh tap water or distilled water after each use.
Converting EC to TDS
The EC-Pen displays the values in microsiemens (µS). You can convert to TDS (ppm) as follows:
2,000 µS/cm = 2.0 mS/cm = 1000 ppm on the 0.50 scale
2,000 µS/cm = 2.0 mS/cm = 1400 ppm on the 442 scale or the 0.70 scale
