Description
Pond KH-Booster by Microbe-Lift can be used to raise the carbonate hardness of pond water.
The special combination of different elements helps to increase the carbonate hardness and thus stabilises the pH value in pond water. A stable carbonate hardness value is important to reduce the formation of toxic ammonia and improve fish welfare.
Pond KH-Booster ensures that beneficial microorganisms such as bacteria find the minerals they need in the water for important biological processes such as nitrification.
Dosage:
- Add one level measuring spoon to 100 litres of water to increase the KH value by 2.5 °dH.
- The optimum carbonate hardness in pond water is between 6 and 10 °dH.
Tips:
- A KH value of < 5°dH leads to fluctuations in the pH value. A pH value that is too low results in an increase in the toxicity of nitrite while a pH value that is too high results in an increased conversion of ammonium into ammonia which is toxic to fish.
- A high carbonate hardness that is sufficiently high stabilises the pH value.
- Check your water parameters regularly.
