Description
Ludwigia arcuata has delicate narrow leaves with green to orange-red colouring and a bushy, upright growth. The stem plant is a decorative presence in the middle and background and also suitable for bonsai aquariums. Warm temperatures and a bright location result in robust growth while fertilisation with iron intensifies the formation of reddish shoot tips. In terrariums it can be trained to be a creeper. When exposed to lots of light, it develops large, yellow flowers.
- Light requirements: medium to sunny
- Optimum temperature: 12 to 28°C
- Water values: soft to medium-hard
- pH value: 4 to 7
- CO2 and nutrient addition: responds well, fertilise with iron
- Propagation: from cuttings
Note: The aquatic plants in cups are grown in a sterile environment in a lab. They are therefore suitable for sensitive animals such as dwarf shrimp and can be used immediately. In-vitro plants do not harbour stowaways such as snails or parasites. No pesticides are used.
