Description
Eriocaulon cinereum is a very adaptable and easy-care rosette plant with an extremely characteristic appearance: thanks to the narrow, lance-like leaves, its shape is reminiscent of sea urchins when it reaches a certain size - an absolute visual highlight! It is just as attractive as a solitary as it is in a group. If it has enough light and CO2, it develops delicate stems up to 10 cm high, including button-like flowers. Not a must, but it appreciates it: soft water. As it grows rather slowly, it also fits into small tanks. Conclusion: A unique ornamental for any foreground and middle-ground setting!
- Light requirements: Good to intense, never shade
- Optimum temperature: 20 to 30°C
- Water conditions: Very soft to medium-hard
- pH value: Very tolerant
- CO2 and nutrient addition: Absolutely
Tip: With this Eriocaulon variety it can happen that plants die immediately after flowering. If you want to avoid this, it is better to cut back the flower stems.
Note: The cups are grown in the laboratory. Aquatic plants from the so-called in vitro culture are grown sterilely. They are therefore also suitable for sensitive animals such as dwarf shrimps and can be used immediately. In vitro plants have no stowaways such as snails or parasites, and pesticides are not used at all.
