Description
The somewhat more demanding stem plant Pogostemon erectus, the Indian star plant, comes from Southeast Asia. Its great looks more than make up for the effort. The 30 to 40 cm high aquarium plant is perfect for the background of the aquarium and tolerates soft to medium-hard water.
The fine-leaved Indian star plant Pogostemon erectus from Southeast Asia is a bright green, radiant eye-catcher in the middle ground to the background in the aquarium with its needle-fine, star-branched leaves.
The relatively upright growing Indian star plant needs additional fertilisation with CO2 and medium to strong light in order to develop really well. Regular pruning is well tolerated, and with this, the plant grows bushier.
It is not difficult to multiply this great aquarium plant. To do this, cut off shoot tips or side shoots and simply stick them into the gravel or soil, where they root in and quickly sprout again.
Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:
The medium-fast growing stem plant Pogostemon erectus is the perfect contrast to broad-leaved, red-leaved or dark green aquarium plants.
